Why is this affidavit used?
- To declare personal income details on oath when applying for an Income Certificate from the Tehsildar/SDM/Revenue Department.
- It assures the authority that the details provided (job, salary, rent, property status) are genuine.
When is it used?
- Education → for fee concessions, scholarships, or reservations (EWS, OBC, etc.).
- Government schemes → subsidies, ration benefits, housing schemes.
- Court or legal proceedings → where proof of income is required.
- Bank/loans → sometimes asked for as a supporting document.
Purpose of this affidavit
- To act as a self-declaration of income where direct salary slips, ITR, or employer's certificates are insufficient or not available.
